VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT- Global Fairness Initiative (GFI)



Global Fairness Initiative (GFI) with the support of Humanity United (HU) is leveraging the ongoing work of the Brick Clean Network (BCN). The long-term goal of the Better Brick Nepal program is to expand upon existing initiatives to remove forced labor from brick manufacturing in Nepal as well as to bring the brick industry up to higher labor, environmental, and economic conditions through a locally managed, sustainable Better Brick monitoring and certification program. The Better Brick partnership is currently recruiting for a full-time, senior-level consultant to serve as the Program Director for short-term strategy and design process with the opportunity for a longterm role in leading the Better Brick Nepal (BBN) program.

POSITION:

Senior-Level, Full-Time Program Director (on an initial four-month contract with the potential for a long-term position with country focus in Nepal)

DURATION:

This is a full time post, on an initial contract of four months, with a possibility of continuation. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the BCN Secretariat and GFI, the Nepal-based Program Director will take overall leadership in achieving the overall goals and objectives of BBN. Specifically this includes strategy development, program development and implementation; management of BCN and its Secretariat, coordination and liaison with member organizations,represent BCN among key stakeholders and donors; fund raising organizations; supervise opeations and management. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced degree preferred and 10+ years' experience in international program design and management with direct work on projects related to labor rights and social welfare preferred.

At least 5 years of field experience in project/program management positions is required.

Sound knowledge with experiences on Nepali brick sector issues is preferred

Demonstrated understanding of sound project management practices and protocols.

Excellent program conceptualization and development capacities, including the ability to convey these ideas convincingly in writing.

A high level of personal integrity, efficiency, and ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines.

Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
