Career at The Lutheran World Federation (LWF)


The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal invites application from qualified and competent Nepalese candidates for the following positions.

1. Sustainable Livelihoods Development Coordinator (grade -12) - one number: S/he will be entrusted to lead the sustainable livelihoods theme with innovative concepts, approaches and modalities. S/he will further contribute significantly to strengthen capacity of Implementing Partners and LWF Nepal staff on the subject matter by transferring relevant skills/knowledge and promoting innovation on the ground. S/he will take lead in policy analysis and advocacy at local and national level. S/he is required to take proactive initiation in fund raising, resource mobilization, research and documentation. This is a senior position and based in Country Office, Kathmandu with frequent visits to remote areas.

Required qualifications and competencies: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture (Agri economics, agri business, supply chain, agro forestry) or natural resources management or development economics with 12 years or Master’s degree in above-subjects with 10 years of practical work experience. Good knowledge about linking livelihoods with disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. Very good skills on project cycle management, research, documentation and capacity building. Demonstrated knowledge/skills on developing livelihoods of poor and vulnerable communities. Good understanding about NGOs/CBOs and partnership with them. Sound understanding in applying human rights-based approach in livelihood programming. Command in communication (written and spoken) in both English and Nepali languages.

2. Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) Manager (grade - 9) - one number: S/he will be responsible for ensuring participatory and results-based PME within LWF Nepal and its Implementing Partners. S/he will take leacl in assessing present PME system and improving them, design and maintain PME software, manage database and produce management information and reports as and when required. S/he will require enhancing skills/knowledge about PME to LWF Nepal and Implementing Partner’s staff. S/he will maintain base line of all projects, help relevant staff in articulating SMART indicators and assist in project development. S/he is responsible for producing organizational reports meeting high quality. This is mid level position and based in country office, Kathmandu with frequent visits to remote areas.

Required qualifications and competencies: Bachelor’s degree in development studies or other relevant subjects with six years or Master’s degree development studies, statistics or relevant subjects with four years of relevant work experience. Sound knowledge/skills on results-based PME system development and implementation. Very good skills in data analysis, database management, report writing, capacity building. Through knowledge about project cycle management using logical frame/results framework. Command in (written and spoken) English and Nepali languages.

3. Regional Finance and Admin Officer (grade 7) - one number: S/he will be responsible to maintain financial integrity, consistency and proper compliance of LWF Nepal and LWF global policies and procedures. S/he will ensure sound financial management, compliance of national laws and donor agency's policies, safeguarding and optimum utilization of assets, smooth operation of general administration and human resources management in the projects and the Regional Office. This position is based in the LWF Nepal Regional Office, East, Damak, Jhapa.

Required qualifications and competencies: Bachelor Degree in commerce or business studies or accountancy with at least three years relevant work experience. Conversant in financial management and administrative polices and system development and imparting training, strategic management, system and policy development and implementation. Sound knowledge of financial management, asset management, human resources development and taxation law of the country; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; command in computer skills and language proficiency both verbal and written English and Nepali. Knowledge in ACCPACC and UN Reporting System will be an advantage.
