Save the Children is an International non-profit organization working in Nepal and Bhutan to create positive and lasting change for Children. It advocates for the rights of the children and express zero tolerance to any kind of child abuse. Save the Children expects that anyone associated with it abides the child rights policy. Save the Children invites applications for the following positions in Suaahara, a five year USAID funded program, to improve the nutritional status of women and children under-two years of age. All the positions are fixed srant term position as per the requirement of the project period i.e.from September 2011 -August 2016.
WASH Manager
The WASH Manager will be responsible to manage WASH (Water/Sanitation/Hygiene) strategy with Suaahara Program Team in establishing and maintaining through integrated approach.The responsibilities also include planning, implementation, establishing, monitoring and reporting of WASH activities through liaising with government counterparts, external donor agencies and partners. S/he will have to be involved to identify or areas of interventions, methodologies to use and means to achieve impact for children under two years and mothers.
Location: Kathmandu
Required Qualification: At least Bachelors Degree in Health, Nutrition with minimum 5 years of experience in managing WASH program. Preference will be given to those who holds Master Degree with relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: S/he should have the ability to develop WASH strategies, work plan and implement program/s through partner's organizations. S/he should also have good understanding of the principle of social and behavior change communications to practice optimal WASH behavior. Likewise, experience in or knowledge of Community-Led Total Sanitation/Open Defecation Free zone methodologies and /or other strategies for mobilizing communities will be added value. S/he should have sound verbal and written communication skill in English and Nepali language, report writing, coordination facilitation, organising and leadership skill.
Documentation Specialist
The Documentation Specialist will be responsible to lead all of Suaahara's efforts related to communications. The responsibilities include conceptualizing and developing effective information and write up reports for external audience; develop technical briefs, program updates, newsletters and other written representation of the project. S/he will have to take lead to prepare program report, progress report and donor reports on different intervals.
Location: Kathmandu with frequent field visits
Required Qualification: At least Bachelors Degree in Communication, Journalism with minimum 5 years of experience in the field of Media and Communication. Preference will be given to those who holds Master Degree with relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: S/he should have experience working with media and communication related activities. S/he should have the ability to develop communication strategies and document case studies and lessons learned.The extensive experience in report writing and editing will be added value. S/he is ability to work under pressure as well as ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. S/he should have good communication skills and proficiency in English and Nepali language, good networking skill, coordination skill and ability to work under pressure.
Program Support Officer
The Program Support Officer will be providing administrative and programmatic support to Senior Program Coordinator. S/he will be responsible to assist in coordinating program activities of Suaahara Cluster Office with close coordination with Senior Program Coordinator. The responsibilities also include handling,and preparing correspondence, report, maintaining schedule,arranging external/internal meeting, and workshop.
Location: Pokhara with frequent visit to District Offices
Required Qualification: At least Intermediate /10+2 with minimum 5 years of experience in Program Support activities. Preference will be given to those who hold Bachelors degree with relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: S/he should have knowledge of program operational activities, secretarial skill, organizing skill, documentation skill, and communication skill. S/he should have good command in both Nepali and English language. S/he should be a good team player, reliable, having good time management skills and ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
