Career With Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF)

Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) is an autonomous organization established by "Poverty Alleviation Fund Ordinance 2060 (2003)" and subsequently by Poverty Alleviation Fund Act 2063 (2006)". It is a targeted program for the poor and excluded groups, initiated by the government of Nepal. PAF has regular program in forty districts of Nepal. Apart from its regular program, PAF has received a grant from Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) through World Bank to support the artisan groups with traditional occupation and skill. The main objectives of JSDF project is to promote artisans' traditional skill and people involved in cultural industries through sustainable market linkage. The project has aimed to launch program in nine districts namely Terathum, Dhanusa, Lalitpur, Rupandehi, Gurkha, Myagdi, Kapilbastu, Dailekh and Bajura.

PAF seeks application from energetic and self-motivated Nepalese citizens for the position of Technical Specialist (Consultant). Initially, the service of consultant shall be for one year. But extendable on the basis of satisfactory performance.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identifying market potential artisan's industries in the project districts. Bridging, guiding, monitoring and supervising roles and responsibilities for designing and marketing of various artisans' products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND SKILL

Master Degree in Social Science or business with five years experience in the similar field or

Bachelor Degree in Social Science or business with seven years experience in the similar field or

Bachelor Degree in any discipline but professional training on design development of various artisans' products with three years experience

Good command in written and spoken English

Adequate computer skill

Have interpersonal skill and able to manage team work

Able to visit frequently in the project districts
