Heifer International Nepal (INGO), a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty and caring for earth by providing livestock, education and other resources to help poor families become self-reliant, is seeking qualified Nepali citizens for the following positions:
1. Program Manager
This is a field based position and requires spending over 80% of time in the project communities. Program Manager shall be in charge of the regional office and shall oversee the whole program in respective region. Major responsibilities of this position include:
• Explore, review requests from NGOs, and identify potential project partners and project areas.
• Guide project partners in project planning and implementation
• Monitor, supervise, and provide strategic guidance for ensuring effectiveness, efficiency and consistent development among all projects.
• Coordinate with line agencies and others developmental organization to strengthen project impacts
Qualifications required:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree preferably in Agriculture/Veterinary /Animal Science or Social Science, plus five years of working experience in the related field including three years in supervisory capacity. Excellent in social mobilization skills, ability and willingness to travel extensively in rural areas. Good understanding and sensitivity for poverty, social and ethnic issues and willingness to work in flexible schedules.
2. Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
This position is based at Country Office, Kathmandu and requires frequent field visits. Major responsibilities of this position include:
• Assist in project planning and approval process
• Prepare project proposals and progress reports
• Manage and update project database
• Assist in strengthening project monitoring tools and system
• Document the best practices and other information as required.
Qualifications required:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with three year of relevant work experience. Excellent English writing skills. Sound knowledge and skills of using computer, data management and analysis. Good understanding and sensitivity for poverty, social and ethnic issues and willingness to work in flexible schedules.
