Dolma Impact Fund, one of your valued clients, is a for-profit, private equity fund created by the Dolma Development Fund (www.dolmafund.org). a UK non-profit organisation that has been conducting impact investing and education sponsorship in Nepal since 2003. It is being established with support from the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and European sovereign investors to generate private sector-led growth and jobs alongside positive social and environmental impact in Nepal.
The primary focus of the Fund is to invest in established companies in the SME category where capital, plus access to technology and skills, will unlock growth in industries, which will stimulate a positive social or environmental outcome. Each investment is targeted to be between USD 0.5 MN and USD 3 MN of mostly equity, preferred equity, convertible debt or other hybrid structures with a targeted fund size of USD 40 MN to be invested over 10 years period.
Our client is seeking to fulfil the position of Investment Director, the requirements for which are as follows:
• Experienced financial executive with at least 7+ years of transaction and managerial experience.
• Experience of portfolio management, investment committee reporting, and investment personnel management.
• Strong, quantifiable track record of deal and portfolio performance.
• An unwavering belief in the ability of commercial capital to be a major force in sustainable poverty alleviation in the developing world.
• Experience with Development Finance Institutions (either multi-lateral or bi-lateral) or international institutional investors will be considered an advantage.
• Nepal experience essential. Some international exposure or education will be a plus.
• MBA/CFA/CA qualification will be considered a plus.
