The Director of Human Resources is a member of the Senior Management Team and is responsible for managing the overall provision of Human Resources policies and services across SPN. S/he is expected to bring a modern, business-like approach to the leadership of the HR function and drive a change management process across the organization. S/he will lead the development and implementation of a new HR strategy that will support the attainment of SPN's organisational goals and objectives and bring the organization in line with the global systems of people development established by its international partner, Marie Stopes International. To achieve this, SPN requires an innovative, results-oriented individual who can create and deliver a vision, and wants the challenge of developing and managing organisational change.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Expertise
• Be educated to degree level and hold a recognised professional qualification in HR Management. A relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable
• Detailed knowledge of Nepali employment law and other related laws
• Fluent English both oral and written.
• Up to date knowledge of performance management and staff motivation
• Desirable: Additional qualifications in conflict management, coaching and mentoring, training development
Experience
• Successfully held a HR management position for at least 5 years, ideally in a customer orientated, dynamic organisation
• At least 2 years' experience of implementing transformation in HR systems and achieving organisational change, bringing modern, progressive approaches to HR practice.
• At least 3 years' experience of developing and successfully implementing a strategy for HR aligned with organisational objectives.
• Proven ability to train and develop others
• Desirable: Experience of managing human resources in a multi-location environment Skills and Abilities
• Able to develop and articulate a clear strategic vision of HR
• Negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills
• IT literate
• Able to manage and motivate teams to achieve targets and to achieve organisational change
• Strong written, reading and spoken English Language skills
• Proven ability to 'sell' ideas, concepts
