HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal is a Swiss non-governmental organization actively contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of poor and disadvantaged people in Nepal. HELVETAS has been working in Nepal for more than 50 years. Currently, it runs more than fifteen projects in five working areas: Water and Infrastructure, Rural Economy, Environment and Climate, Education and Skills Development, and Governance and Peace.
The Safer Migration Project (SaMi) is a bilateral initiative of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Government of Nepal and implemented by HELVETAS Nepal with the purpose to contribute to safer migration. The main objective of the project is to support potential migrant workers in taking informed decision about foreign employment. The project intends to provide interested women and men with accurate and relevant information prior to departure so that they can protect themselves against possible fraud and exploitation. In addition, the project provides skill training to ensure better employment and seeks to provide legal and paralegal services to the migrants who need such assistance.
Safer Migration Project/HELVETAS Nepal invites applications from qualified and dynamic Nepali citizens for the following position:
Position: Team Leader
Duty station: SaMi Programme Management Unit, HELVETAS Nepal, Dhobighat, Lalitpur with frequent travel to the project districts.
The Team Leader will be overall responsible for an efficient project management to achieve the expected outcomes and outputs as stipulated in the project document/s and for an excellent human resources, finance and administration management of the project.
Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• Master Degree in relevant discipline;
• Minimum 10 years of working experience in the field of development with 3 years of experience in a relevant field in similar position/s;
• At least 3 years of experience in people management and budget management;
• Excellent understanding of migration and its context of Nepal and familiar with GON policies and protocols applicable for such project implementation;
• Competent in working with senior level officials of the Government of Nepal, donors and networks of development agencies;
• IT: Proficiency in using office application software; ability to produce, understand and analyze standard database reports; and efficiency in using communication applications.
Duration: 3 years with possibility of extension
