Oi'FTF Council's South Asian Sub Regional Office m Kathmandu invites applications from interested Nepali citizens for the position of Finance Officer.
The LOi'FTF Council is the Danish Trade Union Counci for Development Cooperation. We are implementing various development programmes Asia, Afnca and Latin America. The LQ'FTF Council's South Asian Sub Regional Office in Kathmandu delivers technical assistance and project cycle management to our partners in Nepal. India and Bangladesh. The Account Officer will primarily but not limited be responsible for the following tasks,
• Assisting the partner organization in developing and maintaining financial systems and tools for budgets, sustainability plans, management information and working plans
• Supervising the financial reporting of the projects programme m accordance with programme/projects document
• Contributing to solving eventual problems in relation to the implementation of the finance procedures concerning programmed and projects financed by the LO/FTF in the region.
• Daily account functioning for designated projects/programmes and sub regional office
• Preparing the sub regional finanoal reports and ma^ta<nmg detailed accounts for the expenses of the sub regional office and its staff
• Actively participating in the development of system for monitoring and reporting of the sub regional office's financial task and S'he will be supervising the finanoal transactions and task of the sub regional office securing that standards and procedures are earned out accordingly to the LQ'FTF guidefcnes and formats
• Follow-Up for receiving quarterly financial reports, annual statement and annual audit report from partners
• Preparing compiled reports to the LQ'FTF Counol
• Preparing audit of programmes-'projects and sub regional accounts
• Disbursement request
• Registering and payment of the expenses of the sub regional office
• Participating in the sub regional network meetings and seminars with the LO/FTF Council and partner organizations
• Preparing financial document as specified individually for the meeting and seminars
• Ensuring effective financial follow up on meetings and seminars
• Daily maintenance of the office and its adiroistrative systems Required Competencies
• Strong educational and professional background in Accounting
• Knowledge in the development sector as well as oorporate sectors.
• Knowledge of International Accounting and Audit Standards
• Familiar with Nepal Government Tax and VAT
• Knowledge on accounting theory and financial analysis
• Knowledge on financial reporting
• AMity to work in computer with Microsoft Office Packages and Accounting Soft-ware
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and organizational skills;
• Demonstrate capacity to plan, pnontize and deliver tasks on time to meet goals m a highly pressured environment and to support other colleagues in achieving simdar goals
• Proven skis to work in a team, specific experience of mentonng colleagues, and ab*ty to communicate in a multi-cultural environment
• Demonstrate capacity to respond flexibly and positively to change through active tfwolvement and generation of innovative, practical solutions to challenging situations
Qualification & Experiences:
• Chartered Accountant with at least 3 years of working expenence or MBA (specialization in Accounting) with 5 years experience * the fieW of accounting.
• Preference shall be given to those having experience of financial management in NGQINGO.
• Audit experience is an advantage
• Professional Training n Accounting Software - Quick Books'Navtsion Language Requirements
• Excellent verbal, listening and writing in Nepali and English language skills
