Career at Save the Children


Save the Children (SC) is on international non-profit organization working in Nepal and Bhutan to create positive and lasting changes for children through its various themes such as education, child rights and child protection, health and nutrition, HIV & AIDS, youth and economic opportunities, Emergency and Disaster Management. It advocates for the rights of the children and expresses zero tolerance to any kind of child abuse. It requires that anyone associated with it abides the child rights policy. SC invites applications for the following position:

Senior Project Coordinator (CASP) - 2 positions

The Sr. Project Coordinator will be responsible to manage integrated programs under Common Approaches to Sponsorship Funded Program (CASP) in respective region to highest quality and standards,and ensures programs are consistent with Country Strategic Plan, quality planning, implementation, monitoring.evaluation and reporting.The responsibility also includes management of human and financial resources ensuring compliance required by the organisation and donors. The incumbent will coordinate within the organizations and represent with stakeholders at region and district levels. S/he will have to coordinate for CASP related advocacy at regional level and profile to influence policy and practice at regional or district level.The Sr. Project Coordinator will have to provide coaching, technical advice and engage in other capacity building inputs for staff and partners involved in program implementation.The position holder will also be responsible to visit implementing partners to ensure they have adequate technical and programmatic support to meet and maintain program quality at all levels. S/he must ensure that community structures for all thematic areas are well aware of the program and participate in decision making as well as provide technical support in the areas of strengthening community mobilization, organizational development (OD), monitoring and evaluation and sponsorship operation.

Term and Location: Till June 2014 based in Siraha and Kapilvastu

Required qualification: Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent degree with 5 years of relevant experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills: The candidate should have knowledge of managing integrated projects in development organizations. Should be experienced in project cycle management, strategic planning and implementation. Must have extensive experience in partnering with civil society organizations. Should possess skills on budgeting, monitoring and reporting. Should be a team player with excellent coordination, supervision and representation skills. S/he should have strong commitment to Save the Children mission and values and be result oriented along with ability to face the challenges.
