1. PROGRAM OFFICER, CHAL - Hariyo Ban Program (Based in Pokhara)
Major Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator - CHAL, the Program Officer provides support to the delivery and coordination of the Hariyo Ban Program in the Chitwan Annapurna landscape (CHAL), supporting coordination activities for the Hariyo Ban consortium and also supporting planning, delivery, monitoring and reporting for WWF’s component of Hariyo Ban’s activities in the CHAL
Qualifications: Masters in NRM, Environmental Science, Development or a related field is required with at least 3 years of experience in natural resource management and community based conservation. Experience in climate change is desirable.
2. COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE, Hariyo Ban Program (Based in Kathmandu)
Major Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer, Hariyo Ban Program, the Communications Associate will be a member of the Hariyo Ban Program team, playing a vital role in the implementation of the Hariyo Ban Communication Strategy. The Communications Associate will be involved in providing regular updates on Hariyo Ban Program, maintaining its website/webpage, photo library and contributing to the production of outreach materials and monitoring communication activities. Communications Associate will also provide support in planning events and awareness campaigns.
Qualifications: A Bachelors degree, preferably in mass communications or a related field. IT knowledge especially the use of Photoshop, In design, Dreamweaver and/or other designing tools would be complimentary. Good photography skills will be an added advantage. Candidate must have at least three years of experience in the related field.
3. LIVELIHOODS SPECIALIST, Hariyo Ban Program (Based in Kathmandu)
Major Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Party Hariyo Ban Program, the Livelihoods Specialist will be responsible for effective mainstreaming of livelihoods and governance into the three thematic components of Hariyo Ban Program.
Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Sociology, Rural Development, Community Forestry or other relevant Social Science field. At least 6 years of field experience in-country in forest or natural resource related community livelihoods is required. The individual should have sound knowledge of development issues and current affairs in Nepal, solid experience in livelihood promotion, and community forest governance issues in Nepal. Prior experience of working with field based, diverse ethnic groups, cultures, and linguistic groups of mountain and Terai region of country is desirable.
4. PROGRAM OFFICER - Forest Carbon (Based in Kathmandu)
Major Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator - Climate Change. Energy and Freshwater, the Program Officer will be responsible for providing technical input, back stopping, implementation and supervising and monitoring the RKDD+/ forest carbon projects including activities related to policy, forest carbon inventory, GIS, national forest monitoring systems, reference levels, social, environment and economic safeguards, addressing drivers of deforestation and forest degradation and MRV. The candidate should also be well versed with issues related to carbon financing both in the voluntary and compliance markets and have knowledge on PDD and HR-PINs.
Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in NRM, Forestry, Sociology, Biodiversity Conservation, Environmental Engineering, Climate Change or Carbon Financing. At least 3 years of experience in forestry', environment and policy work, including demonstrated experience in managing landscape level programs, staff and budgets and at least 2 years of work experience on forest carbon/REDD+. At least 2 years of experience in program planning, project development, management, monitoring and evaluation. Proven experience working with governments, aid agencies, civil society, and NGOs. Proven track record and skills in social mobilization and working with communities.
