RTI International is seeking candidates for several positions with the USAID-funded Health for Life (H4L) Project. The purpose of the H4L Project is to provide technical assistance and other support services to strengthen the Government of Nepal’s capacity to plan, manage, and deliver quality and equitable family planning and maternal, newborn, and child health services. The position will be based in the project's Regional Office in Nepalgunj.
• Behavior Change Communications (BCC) Specialist
The BCC Specialist will support work planning, implementation, and reporting of cross-cutting family planning; reproductive health; and maternal child, and newborn health and nutrition (FP/RH/MNCHN) behavior change communications (BCC) activities to strengthen community engagement, efficacy, and ownership of health services, particularly in FP/RH/MNCHN areas. Under the direction of the BCC Advisor, supports the development of locally tailored and culturally, linguistically, and gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) sensitive messages, programs, and materials. A Bachelor's Degree in public health, community development or related field and at least 6 years of experience in the implementation of community based health programs focused on increasing access and use of health services, promoting evidence-based best practices for improving the quality health interventions that reduce the morbidity and mortality of mothers, infants, and children is required Extensive field experience in target geographies and solid understanding of the realities and complexities of working in with hard to reach and disadvantaged groups and integrating cross-cutting GES1 strategies. Strong oral and written communication skills and fluency in English and Nepali are also required.
• Quality Improvement Specialist
The Quality Improvement Specialist shall provide the technical capacity-building and support to DPHOs in H4L districts for QI; strengthen the use of data at the district and VDC levels for decisionmaking and Ql in close coordination with the Nepalgunj-based HMIS/M&E Officer and supervise the district-based Community Health/Quality Improvement Officers. Masters Degree in public health or community development or related field and at least 5 years of experience (or a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in Nepal with preferably with clinical background (e.g. nurse or health assistant) is required Extensive field experience in target geographies and solid understanding of the realities and complexities of working in with hard to reach and disadvantaged groups and integrating cross-cutting GESI strategies is also necessary. S/he must have good oral and written communication skills and fluency in English along with fluency in Nepali.
• Contracts Officer
The Contracts Officer will support the implementation of the local technical assistance provider (LTAP) subcontracting process, which involves issuing competitive purchase order contracts to engage LTAPs to support project activities. S/he will review contracts and purchase order details, including Scopes of Work and Deliverables and audit invoices for accuracy, processes and ensures to completeness of payments in a timely manner. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field and minimum of 3 years of experience in contracts and grants management/administration on international development projects funded by USAID (preferred) or other international donor organizations, such as DFID, UN, World Bank, or ADB is required.
• Office Manager
The Office Manager will support the regional program implementation under the direction of the Regional Program Coordinator; making arrangements / reservations for H4L visitors and maintain a visitor schedule; supervising office support staff and functioning as a receptionist. S/he will serve as a focal point in overall communication of workshops and review meetings etc. Bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 year's work experience with international organization is required Proficiency in English will be preferred
• Bookkeeper
The Bookkeeper shall ensure the smooth, efficient and accurate accounting operations of the regional office so that the project activities can be financed efficiently and timely fashion to maximize the impact of the project. S/he shall maintain the project's petty cash account, prepare invoices, and write checks for payment. A Diploma (or its equivalent) in accounting and a minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping is required along with a high degree of proficiency in office procedures, typing and use of computers (including Microsoft Word and Excel programs) and basic fluency in English.
• Office Assistant
The Office Assistant shall support the Office Manager to ensure the enough stock of office supplies, oversee Office Security and ensure the safety of the Office of all the time, provide support at project meetings and conferences including courier services, maintaining documentation for per diem payments, collecting receipts, and other duties. At least 2 years of professional experience with strong recommendations from previous supervisors is required along with experience in office administration, logistics management, and event/meeting coordination.
• Housekeeper
The Housekeeper shall ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the regional office premises and restrooms of the office. Applicants must have at least 6 months experience in a similar role with strong professional recommendations.
• Driver
The Driver shall be responsible for transport of authorized clients, staff, visitors, goods, messages, mail, for the project and provide safe and secure transport to the required destination. Applicants must have formal driver’s training with a valid driver's license in good standing, at least three (3) years of work experience as a driver; safe driving record with a recognized institution and an excellent knowledge of the region and the current conditions of roads and highways.
