Position Title/Level: Assistant Durable Solutions Officer /NOA (Position has a LIEN) Position No: 10005839
Location: UNHCR Sub-Office Damak, Nepal Effective: Immediately
Duration: 1 year (extendable)
Under the overall supervision of the Head of UNHCR Sub-Office and the direct supervision of the Resettlement Officer, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
• Lead a designated team and assess cases for durable solutions. The work shall entail interviewing, drafting RRFS and drafting of case summaries for a variety of cases that include fraud, complex family unity and potential inadmissibility issues.
• Coordinate with other units, such as programme and field/protection, with other UNHCR offices in the region when necessary, and with external entities, such as embassies of resettlement countries, international and local agencies and local authorities.
• Contribute to proposals and country plans vis-a-vis available durable solutions and Responsible for reporting on activities and statistics on resettlement departures, analysis on trends, refugees' interest in resettlement and other durable solutions.
• Responsible for actively promoting resettlement and provides information on repatriation and local integration opportunities for refugees.
• Ensuring that all administrative tasks, logistical arrangements and resettlement case assessments are followed up appropriately and according to protection standards.
• Responsible for the briefing of external parties such as Resettlement Country selection on the country's durable solutions strategy for the refugees of Bhutan
• Undertake any other duties as required.
Qualifications Required:
- University degree (BA) in Political/Social Science, Law, or International Relations or related fields with good knowledge of Refugee issues.
- Language: Strong fluency in English, and Nepali.
- Previous Job Experience: Minimum 02 years previous job experience.
- Experience in counselling and individual case management.
- Experience in progress. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel
