SNV is currently developing a new multi country programme "Making Agricultural Value Chains Climate Smart" that focuses on strengthening existing value chains from both adaptation and mitigation perspectives. This will include support to various value chain actors and service providers who can provide services to small-holder farmers to start making those required changes.

Major responsibility of Climate Smart Agriculture Advisor is to conduct multi-stakeholder assessments of climate change challenges, vulnerabilities and opportunities in the selected value chains to identify entry points and facilitate implementation of project for promoting adaptation and mitigation systematically and systemically.
Requirements
• Master degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Economics or a combination of environmental and agricultural academic degrees is preferable;
• At least five years of practical experiences in agriculture in developing countries;
• Recent professional experience of at least three years in the area of climate smart agriculture;
• Practical experiences on incubators or innovative technology/service model development with businesses or other value chain actors;
• Evidenced experiences with knowledge management, developing best practices, and communication;
• Strong network and prior experiences on working with partners (government and private sectors) in donor funded projects.
The position is based in Kathmandu with frequent visits to the field in remote districts. Female candidates and candidates from marginalised and minority groups are encouraged to apply and are given special preference.
