HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal is a Swiss non-governmental organization actively contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of poor and disadvantaged people in Nepal. HELVETAS has been working in Nepal for more than 50 years. Currently, it runs more than fifteen projects in five working areas: Education and Skills Development, Environment and Climate, Governance and Peace, Rural Economy and Water and Infrastructure.
SSMP, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and executed by HELVETAS Nepal, is supporting farmers to improve the quality of soil and increase productivity for improved food security and incomes of small farmers and disadvantaged groups in the rural mid-hills of Nepal. During Phase 4 (2011 to 2014), SSMP is implementing in 7 districts: Khotang, Okhaldhunga, and Ramechhap in the east, and Achham, Dailekh, Jajarkot, and Kalikot in the west.
