Enabling State Programme (ESP) is a governance initiative of the Department for International Development (DFID) in Nepal GRM International Ltd manages ESP on behalf of DFID. The goal of ESP is to strengthen governance, which is more responsive to the interests of poor and excluded. It contributes to this by strengthening the relationship between state institutions and citizens to promote inclusive policies and programme. ESP aims at reaching out beyond Kathmandu through three Regional Units located in Biratnagar, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi.
ESP is seeking to appoint a Regional Programme Coordinator (RPC). The position is open to Nepali nationals. The mam purpose of the position is to manage the Regional Office at Biratnagar. monitor the activities of partner organisations, facilitate their capacity-building initiatives and strengthen communications between ESP and stakeholders.
RPC will be required to carry out regular field visits to project districts in the eastern region. Candidates for this position should have at least five years of experience with national or international development organisations as development practitioners, preferably in the governance sector. Along with good communication skills in Nepali and English, the position calls for Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Development Studies, Rural Development or relevant discipline, with two years of demonstrated skills in project management. Experience of capacity development of civil society organisations will be an asset. A good understanding of rights-based approach to development, gender and social inclusion approaches, and local context of the eastern region is desirable.
