The Federation Handicap International (HI) is an international, non-profit and non-governmental organization implementing disability-related devi emergency projects in more than 60 countries. HI nas been present in Nep working primarily through partner organizations in the development of projects and activities for the rehabilitation and inclusion of people with disabilities into the mainstream development process. Prevention of disabilities and combating exclusion and stigmatization of people with disabilities are also a ma)or focus of our work.
The HI Country office in Nepal is inviting applications from qualified professionals for the following positioniJUyelihood Officer
The Livelihood Officer will be part of the Inclusion Project, which is based in Kathmandu. S/he will contribute for the achievement of the project goals; facilitate access of people with disabilities to inclusive livelihoods services under the direct supervision of the Inclusion Project Manager.
Requirements:
=* Education: Graduate degree in Social/Economic Science (Sociology, Rural Development, Economics, Micro-finance, etc.)
At least three years’ experience working in livelihood projects ^ At least three years’ experience working in the field of local development, community mobilization, awareness raising
Experience of working through partners, and carrying out trainings => Knowledge of disability, Social Model of Disability, Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) will be an advantage
=* Strong knowledge of key stakeholders in the social and economic sector in Nepal =» Strong experience in liaison and coordinating with partner organizations and multiple stakeholders including capacity development Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
