1. Deputy Project Manager-Partnership and Sustainability - Rehabilitation Project
This project supports the technical, financial and managerial sustainability of the rehabilitation sector in Nepal.
Job profile: Under the supervision of the Project Manager for Rehabilitation Project, the Deputy Project Manager will coordinate, manage and implement activities aimed at strengthening partnership and sustainability of partners and of the rehabilitation sector.
Key Responsibilities:
■ Coordinate for the day-to-day operational management with regards to partners;
■ Ensure full compliance of rules, by partners
• Support the partner organisations in defining their strategies and organisational requirements to sustain the service provisions
• Support the development and capacity building of national level networks amongst the service providers, users groups and authorities
• Provide technical support and expertise to at national level for the strengthening of policies/programmes and mobilisation of resources to ensure sustainability:
■ Support Project Manager for financial management and donor reporting.
Requirements:
■ Advanced university degree in social sciences, disability, rural development, management or related field:
• At least 5 years professional experience in organisational development and advocacy
■ Strong skills in networking, liaison with authorities and multi-disciplinary partners:
■ Knowledge of national policies, available government resources and services especially related to persons with disabilities;
■ Strong project cycle management and coordination capacities;
• Experience in fundraising will be a plus;
■ Excellent written Nepali and English and report writing skills.
2 Project Manager Earthquake Preparedness Project (EPP) (1 Position)
The project supports the preparation of the health sector to respond to an earthquake in Kathmandu Job profile the Project Manager will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of the project, including financial, partnership management, donor reporting. S/he will work in collaboration with international, national and local partner organisations and government authorities.
Key Responsibilities
■ Effective operational management of project activities including planning and monitoring of partnerships.
■ Responsible for developing project implementation strategies, operational plans, monitoring
• Promote disability mainstreaming in disaster management internally and externally.
■ Liaising with government and other stakeholders for the effective realisation of project objectives.
■ Organising training for stakeholders and advice as needed to develop and build management and institutional capacities of partners.
Requirements:
s Master degree in public health, disaster management, nursing, social sector. s Minimum four years working experience in project management.
S Previous experience in management of health related projects and/or emergency response / relief and /or disaster risk management J Advanced understanding of a partnership approach, excellent skills in networking and coordinating s Proven experience in planning, monitoring, reporting and proposal writing.
/ Excellent written and spoken English and Nepali. s Previous experience with vulnerable groups will be as asset.
3. Livelihood Officer (Inclusion Project) (1 position) (re-advertisement and those who applied before need not to apply again)
The project promotes the inclusion of persons with disabilities through access to livelihoods Job Profile: The Livelihood Officer will implement all livelihoods related activities Key Responsibilities:
■ Develop team's and partners' capacity in field of livelihoods
■ Provide technical and strategic frameworks to organize referrals to livelihood services
■ Support partners to assess the inclusiveness of livelihood services and provide support to these services for better inclusion of services
■ Support partners to establish relationships between communities, local authorities and service providers to ensure sustainability
Requirements:
■ Graduate degree in Social/Economic Science
■ At least three years' experience working in livelihood projects, local development, community mobilization, awareness raising
■ Experience of working through partners, and carrying out trainings
• Knowledge of disability, Social Model of Disability, Community Based Rehabilitation
• Strong knowledge of key stakeholders in the social and economic sector in Nepal
• Strong experience in capacity development and liaison with partner organizations
■ Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
Conditions, Salary & Benefits:
^ This position is based in Handicap International Programme Office, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, with up to 50% travel in rural areas of Nepal.
