Job Title: Program Manager (Leadership Development)
Reports to: Director of Training & Support Number of positions: 2
Job Purpose:
Teach for Nepal is placing 30 outstanding university graduates as Fellows to teach Math/English/ Science in public schools. Program Managers manage, support, mentor, and train about 15 Fellows and will be responsible for the development and growth of Fellows into effective leaders and teachers in the classroom.
Competencies
• Minimum Masters degree in any discipline
• An ideal candidate would have working experience in/with rural communities, with good insights into public education system and the challenges and opportunities of low-income, under-resourced government schools,
• An ideal candidate would have some experience in teaching in secondary school, preferably in public/community schools or substantial experience inleading community projects and conducting trainings.
• Results-oriented, ability to work with data, strategic and critical thinker, ability to prioritize and give equal effort and attention to multiple projects,
• Ability to creatively solve problems, mediate conflicts, negotiate and communicate assertively in Nepali and English,
• Ability to listen carefully and provide meaningful advice and guidance,
• Ability to lead a team towards meeting the larger mission of TFN- to inspire, to create a culture of success, and build a relationship of mutual trust,
• Strong computer competency in Word, Excel, and Power Point,
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently in Teach for Nepal target placement schools/communities. Given the position requires frequent travels to schools in rural villages, access to personal motorcycle/vehicle and/or driving license would be an additional asset.
Location: The position is either based in TFN central office or placement region. Salary: Based on Teach for Nepal policies
