Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit making, non-govcrnmental organization (NGO) established in October 1995 with its head office in Pokhara, Nepal. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalising on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improved livelihoods of people in Nepal and South Asia region. Alliance for Social Mobilization Pvt Ltd. (Alliance Nepal) is a consulting company established in 1997 with expertise in the field of participatory development process including focus on forestry and renewable natural resources management, micro-enterprise development and creation of self-employment.
LI-BIRD in joint venture with Alliance Nepal is implementing the part of the Multi-stakeholder Forestry Programme (MSFP) in Baglung, Parbat and Myagdi districts. The programme is jointly funded by the Government of Finland, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and UK Department for International Development (DFID). The MSFP aims to increase the overall contribution of forestry sector to improve the livelihoods of the poor, disadvantaged and marginalised people through broad-based, inclusive and climate change adaptive/resilient development. Applications are invited from qualified Nepali citizens for the following positions for the programme.
