Handicap International (HI), a non - profit making INGO working in the field of disability and disaster risk management in Nepal. HI Nepal is inviting applications from the qualified Nepali candidates for the following posts.
1. DRR Project Officer -1 Position (Based in Kathmandu).
Job profile: Under the direct supervision of Project Manager, s/he will be responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, documentation and knowledge management and for providing technical backstopping support and guidance on project cycle management to partners, communities, DM authorities, stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
■ Carries out planning, monitorim analyses the budget and donor follow-
■ Develops partners' capacity through the financial reporting, analyses all partners document's, cross checks the partner reports, compilation and provide reliable analysis.
Required qualifications and competencies
At least Bachelor degree in disaster management, social sciences / work, rural development,
agriculture, environment management, engineering or related field with four years of professional experiences in project cycle management. Or Master degree in above mentioned disciples with at least 2 years of experiences in project cycle management.
• Skilled in planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, knowledge and data base management.
• Knowledge of disaster risk management related national policies, available government resources and services especially related to persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
• Skilled in project cycle management, partnership management and participatory planning processes.
• Excellent report writing skills in Nepali and English languages.
2. Disability and Social Inclusion Officer - 1 Position (Based in Dhangadi)
Job profile: Under the direct supervision of Project Manager, s/he will be a disability and social
inclusion technical focal point for providing technical backstopping support and guidance on
inclusive CBDRR to partners, communities, DM authorities, stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
■ Provide technical support to the partners, project staff, and local authorities and at risk communities to include gender, disability and other socially excluded groups and their issues in CBDRM plans and programmes.
■ Promote inclusive CBDRM internally and externally.
Required qualifications and competencies
■ At least Bachelor degree in social science / works, agriculture, gender studies, disaster management, disability with at least 3 years of professional experiences in social inclusion and mainstreaming gender, disability and other disadvantaged groups in development and DRR.
■ Proven experiences of working with multiple stakeholders in building their capacities on social inclusion and mainstreaming into the development programmer and policies.
■ Proven experience of working with marginalized and socially excluded groups at the community level. Excellent communication and training skills in English and Nepali.
